Privacy Policy
The short version: your data lives on your iPhone. There is no account, and we do not collect, sell, or share your information.
What Walkami stores
Everything Walkami knows lives on your iPhone:
- Your walks: route, time, distance, and steps for each walk you record.
- Your profile: your name, an optional photo, and your answers to the setup questions.
- Your settings: daily goal, reminder time, and units.
None of it is uploaded anywhere by us. Your own iPhone backup (iCloud or computer) may include Walkami's data like any app's, and that backup stays in your control and invisible to us.
What we collect
Nothing. Walkami has no accounts, no analytics, and no ads. Nothing you do in the app is sent to us, and we never sell or share data with anyone.
One note for completeness: the map you see in Walkami is Apple Maps. Displaying it uses Apple's standard map service, which operates under Apple's privacy policy. We are not part of that exchange and never see it.
Permissions and why we ask
- Location: measures your distance and maps your route while you walk. It is used during a walk you started, including in the background so recording continues with your phone in your pocket, and stops when the walk ends.
- Motion & Fitness: counts your steps during walks using the iPhone's pedometer.
- Notifications: sends the optional daily reminder, only if you turn it on.
You can change permissions anytime in iOS Settings. Location is needed to record walks. Motion & Fitness counts steps. Notifications are optional.
Deleting your data
In the app, go to Profile → Data & Privacy → Delete All My Data. Every walk and your profile are permanently deleted. Walkami keeps no copies anywhere, so there is no backup and no undo. Deleting the app from your iPhone removes everything too.
Because everything lives on your iPhone, there is no copy on our side for you to request, export, or ask us to delete. You already hold the only one.
Children
Walkami collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If Walkami's privacy practices ever change, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change ships.
